Darry’s Place

Darry's place is a supportive second stage housing program for women and their children who have experienced gender-based violence or are at risk of violence. The housing is for a short-term period of up to 18 months, with a potential of extension.

Who is eligible?
All women with or without children who are 19 years or older and their dependent children who have experienced violence or are at risk of violence.

What do we provide?
There are 40 self-contained furnished units. Women are provided access to emotional support, safety planning, advocacy with government and community agencies, information and referrals to services, parenting support, court accompaniment, life skills training, and assistance to find permanent housing.

What does it cost?
Rent is either 30% of your gross income from employment or other sources, or if you receive income assistance the rent is based on the maximum shelter allowance portion. Hydro and Wi-Fi are included.

What are the conditions of your stay?
You must be willing to work towards positive life change
You must be willing to attend mandatory meetings and participate in programs
You must be willing to commit to residing without a partner during your stay
