Under the supervision of the Homelessness Outreach Coordinator, the Supportive Housing Worker works as a member of a team to provide onsite support, information, crisis intervention, access to food and basic necessities, and referrals to men and women who have experienced homelessness or are at risk of homelessness.
Assists clients to live successfully in residential settings, such as supportive housing programs. Identifies client needs and risks, including physical, emotional social, vocational, and medical, and provides skill building in identified areas. Develops and implements short-term, issue specific intervention plans within program guidelines.
Education, Training and Experience
- Relevant Diploma in human / social service field,
- One-year recent related experience.
- Valid Level I First Aid Certificate including CPR.
- FoodSafe certification
- Working knowledge of substance abuse issues, crisis intervention, outreach support.
- Experience and/or training in de-escalation/conflict management
- Current knowledge of Pandemic protocols and available community resources.
About These Positions
Wage: Grid 11, Range $31.56 – $33.49 hourly.
FT Schedule: Saturday 7:30am to 8pm; Sunday & Monday, 9am to 9:30pm. This schedule is eligible for weekend premium
PT Schedule: Sunday & Monday; 7:30pm to 8am (12.5 hr NIGHT shifts) This shift is eligible for night and weekend premiums.
Additional Casual support staff are also needed.
