- HOURS: 60 hours bi-weekly; .80 (FTE)
Monday to Friday: 9 am to 3 pm - SALARY: Grid 11, Range $27.54 – $31.61 Hourly. A Temp Wage Adjustment came into effect on Oct 6th. Temp Range is $31.56 to $33.49. Weekend, Evening and Overnight premiums also came in effect.
Education, Training and Experience
- Relevant diploma or undergraduate degree with one to two years of relevant experience; Transition House Worker Training certificate with two to three years of relevant experience, training in human services, crisis intervention, support and knowledge of abuse issues, and experience supporting women. The relevant experience noted above refers to working with women in abusive relationships in a supportive and counselling capacity.
- Training in Alcohol & Drug counselling from a recognized post-secondary program and related experience in supporting women.
- Crisis intervention in a residential setting (preferred).
- Working knowledge of substance abuse issues
- Experience and/or training dealing with violent or aggressive people.
- Current knowledge of legal issues and community resources.
Additional Requirements
- Valid Level I First Aid Certificate including CPR.
- Valid Food Safe Certificate
- Must have a full class 5 BC driver’s license.
